Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Gradually add the softened butter, kneading until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Rising
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf or individual rolls, and place it in a greased baking pan.
- Let it rise again for about 30 minutes.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
Store brioche in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, wrap in plastic and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight at room temperature before serving.
