For the Mashed Potatoes
  • 4 large potatoes Russets or Yukon Gold work best for creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup milk Add more if needed for consistency.
  • 4 tablespoons butter For a rich flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
For the Onion Gravy
  • 2 large onions Sliced.
  • 2 tablespoons flour To thicken the gravy.
  • 2 cups beef broth For a rich flavor.

Method
 

Preparation of Mashed Potatoes
  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks, then boil them in salted water until tender (about 15-20 minutes). Drain and mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Cooking the Sausages
  1. In a pan over medium heat, cook the beef sausages until browned and cooked through, about 10-15 minutes.
Making the Onion Gravy
  1. Remove the sausages from the pan and set aside. In the same pan, add sliced onions and sauté until soft and caramelized (about 8-10 minutes).
  2. Once the onions are caramelized, sprinkle flour over them. Stir well and gradually add the beef broth, stirring continuously. Cook until thickened (about 5 minutes).
Serving
  1. Serve the sausages on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes and drizzle with warm onion gravy.

Notes

This dish can be enhanced with steamed green vegetables or crusty bread. Pair with ale or red wine for a complete experience. Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
