Ingredients
  

Jalapeño Preparation
  • 10 to 12 pieces jalapeños, halved lengthwise and seeded Select firm, vibrant green jalapeños.
Filling Ingredients
  • 6 to 8 ounces brie cheese, cut into small cubes Can substitute with cream cheese or goat cheese if desired.
  • 1/3 cup blueberry preserves or fresh blueberries The sweetness complements the jalapeño heat.
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional) Adds crunch and flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional) Provides brightness.
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds, leaving a few for extra heat if desired.
  3. Arrange the jalapeño halves cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet and place a cube of brie in each cavity.
  4. Spoon a small amount of blueberry preserves or a few fresh blueberries over each brie-filled jalapeño.
  5. Drizzle lightly with honey. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, lemon zest, and a pinch of sea salt if desired.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the jalapeños are slightly softened and the brie is melted.
  2. Garnish with chopped fresh thyme or parsley, if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

These poppers are delicious on their own but can also be paired with ranch or blue cheese dressing. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm in the oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.
