Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a 12-inch circle.
- If the dough snaps back, let it rest for 5 minutes and try again.
- Dust a pizza peel or baking sheet with cornmeal to prevent sticking and transfer the dough onto it.
Prepare the White Garlic Sauce
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
- Whisk in the flour to form a paste and cook for another minute.
- Gradually pour in the milk while whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue cooking and stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the parmesan cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Assemble the Pizza
- Spread the garlic white sauce evenly over the prepared pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Distribute the cooked chicken evenly across the sauce.
- Top with a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- If desired, sprinkle the red pepper flakes over the cheese.
Bake and Garnish
- Slide the pizza into the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it sit for 2-3 minutes to allow the sauce to set slightly.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley, slice, and serve hot.
Notes
For extra crispy crust, use a pizza stone and fully preheat your oven. Grate your own cheese from a block for the best melting texture. You can make the white sauce ahead of time; store it in the fridge and reheat with a splash of milk if necessary.
