Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix just until combined.
- Grease the heart-shaped cake molds and pour the batter evenly, filling about two-thirds full.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the molds for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Decoration
- Decorate as desired with whipped cream, berries, or powdered sugar.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze for up to 3 months.
