Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
For the Frosting
  • Pink buttercream frosting For topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a heart-shaped baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cookie cake to cool completely before frosting it with pink buttercream.
