Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing well to combine.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thick and cut out star shapes using a star cookie cutter.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle colored sugar or edible glitter on top of each star.
Baking
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool before serving or gifting.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
