Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it is softened, not melted.
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Decoration
  • Colored sugar or edible glitter For decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, mixing well to combine.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thick and cut out star shapes using a star cookie cutter.
  7. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Sprinkle colored sugar or edible glitter on top of each star.
Baking
  1. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Let cool before serving or gifting.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
