Ingredients
  

For the Teriyaki Sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Low sodium soy sauce can be used for a healthier option.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Can substitute with maple syrup for a vegan option.
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil For added flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch To thicken the sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces chicken thighs Boneless, skinless is preferred for easier cooking.
  • to taste sesame seeds For garnish.
  • to taste green onions Chopped, for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, and cornstarch to create the teriyaki sauce.
  2. Coat chicken thighs with the teriyaki sauce and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
Cooking
  1. Place marinated chicken thighs in the air fryer basket.
  2. Cook for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and chicken is crispy.
  3. Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes.
Serving
  1. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Marinate longer for enhanced flavor. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer to ensure crispness. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
