Cooking the Meat
  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef or chicken over medium heat, breaking it apart for an even texture. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add taco seasoning to the meat according to package instructions, usually involving adding water and simmering until thickened and fragrant.
Assembling the Bowl
  1. In a bowl, place a warm serving of cooked rice as the base.
  2. Top the rice with the seasoned meat.
  3. Add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese.
  4. Drizzle with sour cream for added creaminess.
  5. Finish with crushed Doritos for extra crunch.
