Method
Cooking the Beef
- Place a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until it is no longer pink.
- Drain any extra grease from the pan.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and 1/2 cup of water.
- Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef beautifully.
Preparing the Bowls
- Ensure your cooked rice is warm.
- Prepare four bowls. Divide the warm rice evenly among the bowls as the base layer.
- Top the rice with a generous scoop of the seasoned beef.
- Add the black beans, corn, cherry tomatoes, and sliced avocado to each bowl, arranging them in neat sections for a beautiful presentation.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the warm beef so it starts to melt slightly.
- Add a dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro to the center of each bowl.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side to squeeze over the top for a bright, zesty finish.
Notes
Rinse beans before using. Sear beef for better flavor. Store toppings separately for freshness. Can freeze seasoned beef for later use.
