  • 4 large Eggs Large eggs preferred.
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons Butter For cooking.
For the Filling
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese Softened.
  • 1/4 cup Powdered sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 2 cups Fresh strawberries Slice or mash for layering.
For Serving
  • maple syrup Maple syrup To drizzle on top.
  • whipped cream Whipped cream For topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
  2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt butter.
  2. Cook the soaked bread slices in the skillet until golden brown on both sides, approximately 3-4 minutes per side.
Assembly
  1. In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.
  2. Assemble the French toast by spreading the cream cheese mixture on one slice, topping with fresh strawberries, and placing another slice on top.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To reheat, pop in the toaster or skillet. For longer storage, freeze individual slices separated by parchment paper for up to 2 months.
