Ingredients

Pasta and Sausage Ingredients
  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or your choice)
  • 1 lb sausage (Italian or chicken)
Sauce Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Garnish
  • Chopped green onions For garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes; stir to combine, and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together until the pasta is well coated.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve warm.

Notes

Make sure not to overcrowd the skillet; this helps the sausage brown nicely. For added nutrition, consider tossing in some spinach or bell peppers during the final cooking stages.
