Preparation
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans to prevent sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix on medium speed until the batter is well blended.
- Incorporate Boiling Water: Carefully stir in the boiling water; the batter will be very thin. Pour evenly into the prepared pans.
Baking
- Bake: Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Frosting
- Prepare Frosting: While the cakes cool, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, beating until fluffy.
- Color the Frosting: Divide the frosting into two bowls. Color one red and the other blue using food coloring.
Assembly
- Assemble the Cake: Place one layer on a plate, spread frosting on top, and add the second layer.
- Frost the Cake: Frost the entire cake with a thin layer of blue frosting. Use red frosting to create Spiderman designs on top.
- Decorate: Top it off with the Spiderman figurine, use black piping gel to design webs, and sprinkle red and blue sprinkles around the edges for extra flair.
Notes
