Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 13x18 inch baking sheet.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract and milk until well combined.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined; do not overmix.
Adding Color
- Divide the batter into two bowls. Add red food coloring to one bowl and blue to the other, mixing well.
- Spoon alternating dollops of the red and blue batter into the prepared pan to create a marbled effect.
- Use a knife to gently swirl the colors together, being careful to maintain distinct colors.
Baking
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before frosting.
Frosting
- Once cool, frost one half of the cake with red buttercream and the other half with blue buttercream.
- Top with Spider-Man decorations or icing.
Notes
