  • 4 cups sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) Choose a mix for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 pinch salt

Method
 

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced apples and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Sprinkle the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and salt over the apples.
  4. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the apples are tender and caramelized, about 5-10 minutes more.
  5. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or over pancakes.

Notes
