Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm water Around 100°F (38°C)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in the sourdough starter and salt. Gradually add flour, a little at a time, mixing until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Cover and let rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the crust is golden and it sounds hollow when tapped.
  3. Let cool before slicing.
