Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together until fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly browned but centers are soft.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week, or freeze for up to three months.
