Baking Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the honey (or maple syrup) and vanilla extract; mix well until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. If using chocolate chips or nuts, fold them in gently.
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the slice to cool in the dish for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice into squares or bars.
Notes
Store the cooled slices in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.
