Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into strips, approximately 1 inch wide.
Assembly
- Place a tablespoon of the jalapeno filling at one end of each pastry strip. Fold the pastry over and twist it a few times to encase the filling.
- Place the twisted pieces onto the lined baking sheet. Beat the egg and brush it over the twists for a nice golden finish.
Baking
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and flaky.
- Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauces.
Notes
Ensure puff pastry is properly thawed for easier handling. You can customize the filling with diced bacon or pepper jack cheese for extra spice. For a crisper texture, consider spraying the tops of the twists with cooking spray before baking.
