  • 1 box red velvet cake mix Follow package instructions for preparation
  • Ingredients to prepare red velvet cake (eggs, oil, water as per package instructions)
For the Cheesecake Filling
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened Ensure fully softened to avoid lumps
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream Whip until stiff peaks form
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Decoration
  • 1 cup strawberry preserves
  • Fresh strawberries for topping Arrange on top for decoration

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the red velvet cake mix box.
  2. Prepare the cake batter as directed, using the eggs, oil, and water required.
  3. Pour the batter evenly into two round cake pans and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cheesecake Filling
  1. While the cakes cool, prepare the cheesecake filling by beating the softened cream cheese and sugar together until smooth and creamy.
  2. In another bowl, whip together the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined and fluffy.
Assembly
  1. Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate and spread a generous layer of the cheesecake filling on top.
