Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring Gel food coloring recommended.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add-ins
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until fluffy and light in color.
  4. Beat in the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Combining
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  2. Fold in the white chocolate chips gently to distribute them evenly in the dough.
Baking
  1. Drop tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  3. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
