Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground chicken (93% lean) Can substitute with ground turkey or tofu.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice Can substitute with brown rice.
Seasonings & Sauces
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 1/3 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot) Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional) Adjust for heat.
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil Use for frying.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together hot sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Set aside.
  2. Cook jasmine rice according to package instructions. Fluff with a fork once done.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground chicken and break it apart. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook chicken until fully browned and no longer pink, about 6–8 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the prepared firecracker sauce and stir well to coat all the chicken.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Assembly
  1. Assemble bowls by scooping rice, topping with saucy chicken, green onions, and sesame seeds.
  2. Serve hot and enjoy your flavorful, high-protein bowl!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze cooked chicken and rice for up to 2 months. Adjust heat level by varying hot sauce and red pepper flakes.
