Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey Choose lean cuts for a healthier option.
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced Increase for extra umami flavor.
Cheese and Sauces
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Try provolone or mozzarella for different flavor.
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
Spices and Seasonings
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey over medium heat until fully cooked.
  3. Add the diced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms to the skillet; cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Mix in the cream cheese until melted and everything is well blended.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, spreading it evenly and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving to allow the flavors to meld beautifully.

Notes

This casserole is perfect on its own, but can be paired with a side salad or steamed vegetables. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze portions for up to 2 months.
