Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine crushed Oreos and softened cream cheese. Mix until well combined.
- Add the peppermint extract and mix again.
- Roll the mixture into small balls and place on a baking sheet.
- Freeze the truffles for about 30 minutes to firm up.
Coating
- Melt the semi-sweet chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
- Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off.
- Place the dipped truffles back on the baking sheet.
- If desired, sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on top before the chocolate sets.
- Refrigerate until the chocolate is set.
