Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Gradually mix in the flour and salt until you have a crumbly texture. Don’t overwork it.
- Press this mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan evenly and bake for 15 minutes.
Filling
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and chopped pecans until well combined.
- Pour the pecan mixture over the baked crust, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes or until the filling is set and slightly bubbly.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. These bars freeze well for up to 3 months.
