  • 2 cups Milk Whole milk is recommended for richness.
  • 1 cup Heavy cream Adds richness and a silky texture.
  • 1/2 cup Sugar Balances the flavors.
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Pure vanilla extract is best.
Crumb Topping
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour Forms the base of our crumbly topping.
  • 1/2 cup Light brown sugar Gives a deeper sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Adds extra flavor to the topping.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg A pinch elevates the flavors.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt Provides balance to the sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup Butter Chilled creates the perfect crumb texture.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cut the French bread into thick slices and arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon, whisking until well combined.
  4. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread, ensuring that all pieces are soaked. Sprinkle the chopped peaches on top.
  5. In another bowl, mix the flour, light brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the crumb topping over the French toast and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until golden brown and set.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

Best served warm with maple syrup or powdered sugar. Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat at 350°F for about 15 minutes.
