  • 1 stick butter
  • 1⅔ cups sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • 1 cup peanut butter Smooth or crunchy based on preference
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups quick cook oats
  • ¼ tsp salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Clear your countertop and gather all ingredients and tools.
  2. Measure out peanut butter and honey or maple syrup.
Cooking
  1. Place a saucepan on medium heat and add peanut butter and honey.
  2. Stir gently until the mixture is smooth and gooey, then remove from heat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, cocoa powder, and chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the warm peanut butter mixture over the dry ingredients.
  5. Fold everything together with a spatula until well-combined.
Assembly
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Form small balls of the mixture and flatten them slightly on the sheet.
  3. Refrigerate the cookies for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Remove cookies from the fridge and serve on a platter.

Notes

For a smoother texture, stir the peanut butter and honey mixture thoroughly. Adjust sweetness to preference and experiment with different nut butters.
