Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain. Set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Assembly
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Spread 1/3 of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then top with 1 cup of mozzarella and 1/3 of the meat mixture.
- Repeat the layers twice more, finishing with marinara sauce and remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
Baking
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve hot, paired with a green salad and garlic bread. For storage, cool completely and refrigerate for up to 3 to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
