Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the white chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week, or freeze for up to three months. Sift matcha powder to avoid clumps and consider adding a pinch of sea salt on top for extra flavor. For stronger matcha flavor, add an extra teaspoon of matcha powder.
