Burger Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken with salt, black pepper, pure maple syrup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix until well blended.
- Shape the mixture into four equal patties, making sure they're not too thick to ensure even cooking.
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat or prepare a grill. Cook the patties for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked through and golden brown.
- During the last few minutes of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to help it melt.
- Remove the patties from the heat and prepare your pretzel buns.
- Assemble your Maple Mustard Chicken Burgers by layering sauerkraut and crispy fried onions on top of each cheese-topped patty on a pretzel bun.
Notes
Leftover burgers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For reheating, use a microwave or place them back on the grill for added crispiness.
