Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, minced garlic, and soy sauce until well combined.
Cooking
- Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down in the hot skillet.
- Sear the chicken for 5 to 7 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy. Flip the chicken over.
- Pour the maple garlic mixture over the chicken thighs in the skillet.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Carefully remove the skillet from the oven. Use a spoon to baste the chicken with the thickened sauce from the bottom of the pan.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Searing the chicken adds fantastic flavor and keeps it juicy. Basting helps create a glossy, caramelized coating. Always use a meat thermometer for safety.
