Ingredients

Cookie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature for easy creaming.
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar Dark brown sugar adds richness.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup Opt for pure maple syrup for best flavor.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Measure accurately to avoid dense cookies.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie as they will spread while baking.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are set.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
