Preparation
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Break it apart with a spoon and cook until browned with no pink remaining, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Reduce heat to medium-low and let it simmer until the sauce has thickened and coats the meat, about 2-3 minutes.
Assembly
- Place the tostada shells on a baking sheet or plates. Evenly divide the turkey mixture among the shells.
- Top each tostada with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese.
- Serve immediately with your favorite optional toppings.
Notes
Store the toppings and turkey filling separately to keep fresh. Refrigerate the turkey mixture for up to 3 days. Reassemble tostadas just before serving.
