Ingredients
  

For the loaf
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted until browned
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest Freshly grated
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice Freshly squeezed
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma. Let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter and brown sugar. Mix well.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a delightful presentation, slice the loaf into thick pieces and serve with a light dusting of powdered sugar. Pair with fresh berries or whipped cream. To keep fresh, store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
