  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional, adjust according to spice preference.
  • 4 cups cooked rice For serving.
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onions For garnish.

Method

Cooking
  1. In a skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the mixture is heated through and well combined.
  5. Serve over cooked rice and garnish with sliced green onions.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave, adding a few drops of soy sauce or water to keep it moist. For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with crumbled tofu or tempeh.
