Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans to prevent sticking.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, and mix in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Serving
- Once cooled, frost with your choice of frosting and sprinkle with colorful sprinkles if desired. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
For storage, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze slices tightly wrapped for up to three months.
