Ingredients
  

For the Cornish Hens
  • 2 pieces Cornish hens (about 1.5 lbs each) Fresh or thawed
For the Glaze
  • 1/4 cup orange juice Freshly squeezed for better flavor
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp grated orange zest
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Rinse and pat dry the Cornish hens to help achieve a crisp skin.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the orange juice, honey, soy sauce, olive oil, orange zest, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Brush the glaze generously over the hens, saving some glaze for basting later.
Cooking
  1. Place the hens on a roasting pan, breast side up, and bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes.
  2. Baste them occasionally with the reserved glaze for optimal flavor and moisture.
  3. Check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F before serving to ensure they are cooked thoroughly.

Notes

Serve alongside wild rice or fluffy mashed potatoes to soak up the glaze. Can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
