Ingredients
Method
Marination
- In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the chicken thighs, ensuring they are well coated. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for maximum flavor.
Breading and Frying
- In another bowl, mix the flour and breadcrumbs together.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Dredge the chicken thighs in the flour and breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
- Carefully place the chicken in the hot oil and fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through, checking that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Once cooked, allow the chicken to drain on paper towels.
Assembling the Burger
- Toast the burger buns lightly in a separate pan.
- Assemble your burger by placing leafy greens and a slice of tomato on the bottom half of the bun, adding the crispy chicken, and drizzling with hot honey.
- Top it with the bun's upper half, and you’re ready to indulge!
Notes
For best results, make sure to not overcrowd the frying pan and allow the chicken to rest after frying. Serve with a side of fries or salad.
