  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts Fresh and firm Brussels sprouts are best.
  • 3 tbsp Honey Can substitute with maple syrup for variation.
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil Extra virgin olive oil recommended for flavor.
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper Freshly cracked black pepper works best.
  • 1 cup Cheese Use Parmesan or sharp cheddar, or experiment with other cheeses.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and trim the Brussels sprouts, cutting them in half.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, honey, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Cooking
  1. Roast for 20-25 minutes, or until crispy and caramelized, stirring halfway through.
  2. During the last five minutes of roasting, sprinkle cheese over the top and return to the oven until the cheese is melted.
Serving
  1. Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness. Avoid microwaving.
