Main Ingredients
  • 2 slices slices of bread (your choice) Use thick-cut for a heartier sandwich.
  • 1 piece apple, thinly sliced Honeycrisp or Granny Smith recommended.
  • 2-3 slices cheddar cheese Can substitute with gouda, brie, or Swiss.
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey Drizzle for sweetness.
  • as needed Butter or oil for grilling For grilling the sandwich.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Spread honey on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Layer apple slices and cheddar cheese on one slice of bread.
  3. Place the other slice of bread on top, honey side down.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  2. Grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  3. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Serve with a light salad, veggie sticks, or creamy tomato soup. Optionally drizzle more honey before serving.
