For the Bowl
  • 2 cups cooked rice Any type of rice such as jasmine or basmati works well.
  • 2 pieces chicken breasts, cubed You can also use frozen chicken, just thaw it thoroughly before cooking.
  • 1 cup broccoli florets Steam until just tender to maintain color and nutrients.
For the Glaze
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Can be substituted with maple syrup or agave for a vegan option.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • to garnish Sesame seeds For added crunch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create the glaze.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the cubed chicken until browned.
  2. Pour the glaze over the chicken and cook until the chicken is fully cooked and the sauce is sticky.
  3. In a steamer, cook the broccoli florets until tender.
Serving
  1. Serve the glazed chicken over a bed of rice, topped with steamed broccoli and garnished with sesame seeds.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the glaze for 30 minutes before cooking. Customize the glaze with chili paste or sriracha for added spice. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
