  • 1 lb sirloin steak Slice against the grain for tenderness.
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (e.g., bell peppers, broccoli, carrots) Use any vegetables you enjoy.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Can substitute with gluten-free soy sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Extra flavor; can substitute with vegetable or olive oil.
  • Salt and pepper to taste For seasoning.
  • Green onions for garnish Chopped for serving.
For the Rice
  • 4 cups cooked fried rice Prepare in advance or use leftover rice.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Slice the sirloin steak into strips and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Cooking
  1. Add the steak strips and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes.
  2. Add mixed vegetables and soy sauce, cooking until the veggies are tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Serve the steak and veggies over a bed of fried rice.
  4. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Store fried rice separately to prevent sogginess. For added flavor, serve with pickled ginger or homemade garlic dipping sauce.
