  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic Enhances flavor; adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 cup beef or chicken broth Non-alcoholic broth is preferred.
  • 1/3 cup sour cream Adds creaminess to the sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese For extra creaminess.
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt Adjust according to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper Adjust for spice level.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Ensure it is non-alcoholic.
  • 1 to 2 cups Colby jack cheese, shredded For topping; amount can be adjusted.
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried thyme Adds an aromatic flavor.

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
  2. Add the diced onion and sliced mushrooms, sautéing until softened.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the green beans and broth, covering the skillet to steam the beans until tender.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in the sour cream, cream cheese, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until the sauce is creamy.
  6. Top the mixture with shredded Colby jack cheese.
  7. Cover and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbling.
  8. Serve warm straight from the skillet.

Notes

For an extra kick, add red pepper flakes. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for later.
