  • to taste salt and pepper Essential seasoning.
  • 8 oz provolone cheese The classic cheese choice that melts beautifully.
  • optional hoagie rolls or sliced bread For serving.
  • splash olive oil For sautéing.
  • optional toppings: sliced jalapeños, mushrooms, or hot sauce For added spice.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil.
  2. Once the oil is hot, toss in the sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5 minutes until soft.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Cooking
  1. Push the sautéed vegetables to one side and add the ground beef to the clear side. Cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the beef and mix well with the vegetables.
  3. Once the beef is cooked, mix it with the sautéed vegetables.
  4. Evenly distribute the provolone cheese over the mixture and cover the pan for a couple of minutes until melted.
Serving
  1. Serve the mixture directly from the pan into hoagie rolls or enjoy on its own.
  2. Add optional toppings like jalapeños or hot sauce.

Notes

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to four days. Reheat in the microwave or on stovetop. You can also use the mixture as a topping for baked potatoes or mixed into pasta.
