Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs
  • 1 lb lean ground meat (beef, chicken, or turkey)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 ea egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried mint
  • 1 ea lemon, zested and juiced
  • to taste salt and pepper
For the Tzatziki
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 ea cucumber, grated and drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • to taste salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, oregano, mint, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare the tzatziki by mixing the yogurt, cucumber, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Serve the meatballs with the tzatziki sauce. Enjoy your high-protein Mediterranean meal!

Notes

Serve these Greek-style meatballs with warm pita bread, over a fresh garden salad, or with roasted vegetables for a balanced meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Tzatziki can be stored separately for up to 5 days.
