Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature.
Mix-Ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use dark, milk, or white chocolate chips as preferred.
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped Can be omitted or replaced with other nuts/seeds.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
Baking
  1. Drop large spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  3. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Best served warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
