Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder Use good quality cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional Add-ins
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Opt for dark chocolate chips for richer flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  3. Let cool before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

To serve, top with vanilla ice cream or drizzle with chocolate/caramel sauce. Store in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
