Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
- Once melted, remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Baking
- Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
- Do not over-cook; the brownies should be set at the edges and slightly underdone in the center.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Can freeze for up to 3 months.
