Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream Makes the cornbread moist.
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg Should be at room temperature.

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together honey, sour cream, melted butter, milk, and egg.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool slightly before serving, and enjoy warm with butter and honey.
