For the Cake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk Any type of milk can be used, including dairy-free alternatives
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
For Decoration
  • Floral decorations (edible flowers, icing, etc.) Use fresh, pesticide-free flowers

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with milk, mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Frosting and Decoration
  1. Once cooled, frost the cakes and decorate with floral arrangements as desired.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Refrigerate for up to 1 week, or freeze for up to 2 months. Ensure the cake is well wrapped.
